Sony unveils its Vision-S electric car concept

Sony unveiled a prototype of a new electric car called “Vision -S”, which is the first step in the future of the giant company to enter the electric car market

At the launch of the CES Technology Exhibition in Las Vegas, Sony unveiled a prototype of a new electric vehicle equipped with smart driving technology, within the framework of a new initiative from the company called the “vision s initiative.”



The President and CEO of the company, Sony “Kenichiro Yoshida” presented the car during a press conference on Monday, January 6. During the conference, Yoshida revealed that the car contained more than 30 sensors inside and outside. In order to improve the vehicle’s ability to monitor objects with great accuracy.

Promising prototype

Sony intends to enter the race to produce electric cars from the widest of its doors, and this can be monitored through the company’s review of advanced technologies that put it in the prototype of the Vision S. Where a car contains a very advanced artificial intelligence system. And speakers support 3D sound technology.


According to the company, the new car also contains features that partially support self-driving. It also has automatic brakes that stop the car before collision. However, the car does not contain self-driving without human intervention due to the difficulty of achieving this matter now. The company is scheduled to officially test its new car on Japanese roads during March 2021. President Yoshida said that Sony does not plan to sell the car commercially or to mass-produce it.
